Dec 2023 – Oct 2024 Supporting Armenians Forcibly Displaced from their Homeland, Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh)

December, 2023 to October, 2024 The Urban Foundation, in collaboration with Choose Love, assisted 112 displaced families (429 individuals) from Artsakh, now residing in Chambarak (91 families) and Vardenis (21 families), following the September 2023 mass exodus due to a nine-month blockade and military actions.

UF provided vital household items, including 73 refrigerators, 16 washing machines, 7 gas stoves, 10 electric ovens, 8 televisions, and 3 electric water heaters. Additional furniture, such as beds, mattresses, wardrobes, tables, chairs, and kitchen sets, was distributed.

To support self-sufficiency, work tools like sewing machines and computers were given to three families. “This initiative is the largest aid effort ever for displaced Artsakh families, addressing the immediate needs of those fleeing with few possessions” said Chambarak’s Deputy Head Robert Ohanyan as recognition of assistance.

Additional support was provided by the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain) for 6 displaced families in Chambarak: single elderly individuals, large families, and those in extreme need.
