Aug 2005 – Aug 2006 – IDP Housing Voucher Pilot Program- Phase 1, Kutaisi, Georgia

The Project was designed to provide housing vouchers as a way of improving the living conditions of internally-displaced families living in collective centers in the City of Kutaisi. The Project beneficiaries were families displaced from Abkhazia settlements following the 1992-93 Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, who currently live in different collective centers and are classified as “internally-displaced families.” As a result of this Project, more than 100 families who had
“internally-displaced” status received housing purchase vouchers and purchased apartments.
