Digital Technologies enhance Democracy

In 2024, the Urban Foundation, in cooperation with Counterpart International, organized the Democracy Tech Hackathon in Yerevan. This annual event takes place in Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries and is supported by the Danish Alliance for Democracies. The winner of the Hackathon was Anna Khachatryan, who presented a technological solution for identifying fake news. Recently, she showcased her idea during the pitching competition held in May at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit, where she won the Jury’s Award and a prize of $10,000. The Urban Foundation aims to organize Democracy Tech Hackathons regularly and make them more inclusive by engaging regional youth.
