Jul-Oct 2026 – Capacity Building Support Program for Consolidated Communities in Armenia

The program aims to contribute to effective, accountable, and sustainable local governance by strengthening municipal management, public service delivery, and local development planning capacities.
Through a structured needs assessment, the program will identify the institutional development priorities of participating municipalities and provide tailored professional training, mentoring, coaching, and consultancy services. Municipalities will be able to select service packages suited to their needs and apply the knowledge and skills gained to their day-to-day responsibilities.
Local and International Peer-Learning Workshops
Another key component is the establishment of a municipal peer-learning network, providing a platform for local leaders and municipal professionals to exchange experiences, share practical solutions, discuss common challenges, and strengthen cooperation in local governance and public service delivery.
Beyond strengthening municipal capacities and improving service quality, the program seeks to establish a financially sustainable model for capacity-building services, supporting the continued development and delivery of these services beyond the grant period.
Professional training program for municipal services and urban planning specialists
On October 7–8, within capacity building component, the Urban Foundation conducted a professional training program for municipal services and urban planning specialists from 6 multi-settlement communities in Armenia: Ijevan, Kajaran, Sevan, Vanadzor, Sisian, and Charentsavan. As a result of the training, the participants acquired knowledge and skills in strategic planning, grant proposal development, and urban planning.
