Final seminar in Aghveran
On December 8-10, the seminar was organized by the Urban foundation on Comprehensive and enhanced partnership agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Armenia (CEPA) in Aghveran, with financial support of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Armenia. Students and NGO representatives from Gyumri, Goris, Alaverdi and Yerevan were brought together to be introduced to the history of the agreement and to the main political, social and environmental postulates it contains. The participants were given the opportunity to freely share their views and elaborate on the topics presented during the seminar.
The goal of the project is to further build capacities of young activists – participants of previous seminars supported by FES, to upgrade and systemize their knowledge about EU-Armenia relations to act as trainers and focal points in the regions of Armenia.
The following results will be achieved:
– 30 persons will upgrade and systemize their knowledge about Armenia’s recent European integration: they will produce position papers based on their knowledge obtained from previous seminars/workshops stating how they can contribute to increased awareness of population about Armenia-EU issues
– Selected 10-15 participants will be ask to elaborate mini-project based on their papers, describing in what way they will disseminate information about Armenia’s integration issues with EU
– Selected 10-15 participants will be supported to carry out their mini-projects
– 10 participants will have an opportunity to visit EU/CoE offices in Europe
The final Workshop_ FES
The two final days of the “The Right to Know” project’s working session took place on November 21-22 at the Center for European Studies (CES) of the Yerevan State University concluding the efforts started with the lunch of the project on May 1 of the current year. The project had been implemented by Urban foundation with the help of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Armenia. The session was attended by a number of guests representing both the donor organization and the expert community including Felix Hett Director of Regional office South Caucasus, Mr. Ara Papyan and Mr. Sos Avetisyan. Seventeen students from Goris State University, Yereven State Univeristiy Ijevan branch and Shirak State University after Mikael Nalbandian gathered to present their papers on wide range of topics such as “The Anti-Corruption policies in Republic of Armenia” “Is there a correlation between the democracy and economic well-being of societies?” and “The economic consequences of the Armenia-EAEU international process”. The working session ended up with the delivery of participation certificates.՝
